New Alfresco How-to
UPDATE: There is a newer edition of this tutorial that includes additional examples and shows how to configure actions within Alfresco Share.
I wrote up a short how-to on writing custom actions for use in Alfresco’s web client.

Great hot-to! It saved me lots of time.
Thanks.

Any chance of writing a: Developing for Alfresco for Dummies? It might be because it’s Tuesday, but I’m having real trouble getting my head around certain things.
For example, when writing a custom action: An action is performed on a node? Not a content item? Is a content item a node? Not according to their wiki…
So, when I’m writing an action for a content item, how do I get the details of that content item (eg: Title, physical location, meta data etc) from the NodeRef? ARGH! It’s all a bit new…
