		<description>Bob,

My company, Optaros, actually does a lot of work in the media space including magazine publishers. It&#039;s hard to make a highly accurate recommendation without talking further in more detail (which we&#039;re happy to do of course).

Alfresco and Drupal should be on your short list. You should think about the kind of front-end you need, the amount of custom development you are comfortable with, and the kind of underyling technology you want to work with (Java vs. PHP).

Depending on exactly what you are trying to do, if you go with something like Alfresco you may want a more out-of-the-box presentation layer like one that could be provided with something like Liferay Portal.

If you rule out Java and want some others to compare with Drupal, you might consider taking a look at Bricolage and eZ Publish.

		<description>Jeff:

We&#039;re currently looking for a Web CMS that suits magazine publishers and incorporates the best of what Web 2.0 has to offer.

Primary need is for one system/database to serve multiple magazine (individual brand) websites.

Can you recommend a couple to look at?

thanks,

Bob G.</description>
