Hi,
There is one issue which I found while using Alfresco community version 4.0.0.
If a user, lets say ‘abc’ creates a site ‘xyz’, he will become the site-manger for that site.
Lets say admin joins that site as a consumer.
Admin has the right to delete the profile of any user.
Lets say admin deletes the user ‘abc’. After deleting the user ‘abc’, there is no site-manger of the site ‘xyz’, although admin is still a member of that site with ‘consumer’ role. Now that site cannot be deleted at all. Now nothing can be done with that site. Not even admin can delete that site.
This is an issue which I feel is quite big.

Rest there is a huge improvement in Alfresco v 4 from the previous versions. The interface now is really catchy with all sorts of new features like “like”, “favorite” etc.

Hi! Thanks for this great sample of coding an Alfresco Dashlet. Any chance you could extend it to “Get the Latest N Documents” instead of the last one and publish the bin files. Sorry I do not have Java developer skills.

Hello Jeff and thanks for that wonderful tutorial!

I’m trying to implement the javascript one. Since you stated “In this example the scripts are going to reside as part of the web application rather than being uploaded
to the repository. Nothing requires that this be the case” I tried to remake it with the scripts in the repository.
I guess I have to modify the “location” property but I couldn’t find how. Do I have to write my own java class extending org.alfresco.service.cmr.repository.ScriptLocation ?

Just an FYI. The Activiti workflow Console requires files to be named .bpmn20.xml currently. I’ve opened a JIRA on this – ALF-14011. The workaround is to just rename the .bpmn file to .bpmn20.xml.

Hi Jeff,
I’m dealing with the problem that I want alfresco share to remember login , so after check “Remember me” checkbox and login successfully, user doesn’t have to log in the next time. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any clue about this. Could you please give me some ?

Hi there,

I want to tell you that maybe this is not the appropiate blog to ask something referent to dashlets. But I can not find nothing about my requirement. I need to show in a dashlet the workflows history of the user. I found that there is a my tasks dashlet. But I guess that I have to build my own service to retrieve data from activiti history processes table. But, How do I can build something like that? I hope you can help me. Thanks for all your support.

Hi Jeff,

Is there any chance you can make a sample for adding custom properties into site?

I’m trying to add a custom property field into a site. I noticed that there’s existing aspect for custom properties in the siteModel.xml file. Just wonder how can I save the custom properties in the create site / edit site form…

Elton,

If you are looking at using Activiti standalone, I highly recommend working through the 10 minute tutorial on the activiti.org site. But to answer your question, yes, the Activiti Engine is the process server that will execute deployed processes. You can use the browser-based Activiti Explorer web application to track and manage running processes and tasks for users.

This is s very noob question. Sorry. I’m starting looking for solutions on BPMN and trying to get as much as I can on Activiti, as well two other options we are considering to adopt on our company.
I’ve been searching Activit for 4 hours now and could not find answer to a simple question (and I’m sure I’m the one to blame):
Is this product a Client-Server architecture?
I could not understand if I can install it in a server and then clients can just use over a browser.
