McGee’s immense blogroll
Check out McGee’s list of RSS subscriptions. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen such a lengthy blogroll but I am continually amazed at the ability some people have to simply manage subscription lists this voluminous let alone stay on top of the posts. I’d need my own local search engine like Autonomy used to do with Kenjin.
William Henry Channing
Rev. Hallman read this a few weeks ago and it really struck me. William Henry Channing was William Ellery Channing’s nephew, BTW.
To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common–this is my symphony. — William Henry Channing

The “speedy skimming” problem only gets worse as the addiction to news feeds grows.

Symlinks in Windows
If you ever need to create symbolic links on Windows like you can with the “ln” command on Unix, you can download and use a piece of freeware called Junction. It works great.
Where to get the JVM for WinNT SP1a
Microsoft’s fixpack SP1a does not include the Java virtual machine. But, you can download it here.
Our current version of Lotus Domino uses applets that will not run with Sun’s 1.4.1 JRE. So, after reinstalling my OS after the hard drive crash, I had to hunt for the Microsoft virtual machine link.
Geek shirt
Another cool geek shirt from Think Geek but what’s with the O’Reilly plug on the back? Am I missing something?
